Having covered Khao San road we move to Sukhumvit road this are is another magnet for western travellers as it includes the Nana Plaza and Asoke area there are a number of embassies dotted around this area including the New Zealand embassy on Wireless road by Soi 1.
The Lanes or streets we would call them at home are known here as Soi's.
Nana and the Nana plaza is the busiest area along this road with plenty of Thailand drinking and Girl bars.

The cost of Bangkok accommodation is higher between Sukhumvit Soi 3 and soi 19 as it is the tourist strip the further out you go the cheaper the Hotels and Accommodation however if you want to be where the action is a few more Baht would be a good idea especially if you are one to get legless on the low cost beer if you do decide to move further down Sukhumvit the buses travel the length of the road and are very cheap as well you can take the bus with air condition or with out the difference is only a few Baht and the Bangkok Sky Train goes as far as On Nut around soi 71 for a bit extra you can take a Thailand Taxi,Tuk Tuk or Motorcycle taxi.
Heineken is the popular export beer while some of the local brew is not bad either such as Singha,Leo and beer Chang (Chang meaning Elephant).
While on mentioning Elephants they can be seen walking Sukhumvit road if you like you can pay 20 Baht and feed them they are well behaved and no need to run from them in fact the way they negotiate the traffic and parked cars along with not stepping on some ones foot is remarkable to watch.
Their are market stalls along one side of Suhkumvit road selling from clothes,nicknacks,Thailand Souvenirs,watches and shoes etc is worth a look and do not be shy on haggling or to barter the price down,because they expect it and will charge you way to much if you do not.
Another popular of the hotel places to stay is the Honey Hotel on soi 19 it have a restaurant/cafe downstairs which has low prices it is off the main road and relatively quiet as Bangkok goes.Also the Nana Hotel is a great place to stay in Bangkok on Sukhumvit soi 4 very close to the famous Nana Plaza.
Some good quality massage parlours along soi 19 as well with Thai massage,Foot massage and the best one to ask for is a oil massage with the special(say no more you can find that one out.
In Asoke by soi 19 is the Underground Station BTS the trains are modern and about the same price as the Sky Train.
Moving on from there we cross Asoke road here there are a couple well known fitness centers they are true fitness and California wow for Thailand girls,men and westerners alike further along we move in to the more British area with Irish and English Bars on the right hand side is Washington square likely the best budget accommodation along Sukhumvit and you have some places like the Silver dollar Bar(free lunch Sunday),Texas Lonestaar bar(free lunch Saturday) and Bourbon street,other clubs with out the accommodation but worth a visit is the Hare and hound with great food,Taffies Hairy Pie bar big TV and pool table and very nice Thai Girls.
