How to Behave on Your First Date if You Want a Second Date

Going out on a first date can be kind of nerve-wracking. You might feel anxious with a mixture of excitement, thus, making your palms sweaty. For some, going out on a first date is quite awkward, while others tend to act cool to cover what they feel.
Here are some important things you need to keep in mind while hanging out with that person for the very first time. Making a concrete first impression is important if you are hoping for a second date.

Be Honest

You don't need to pretend that you are someone else. There is nothing wrong with telling the truth to your date. For instance, if he or she asked you to go at a cocktail lounge but you don't drink, speak up. It'll be a little bit odd if you tell them that you don't go to such places when you're already there, seated and waiting for the order. It is also necessary to be decisive. When your date asks you where you want to eat, tell them where. Do not say "I don't know, it's up to you," those words could make a wrong impression.

Do Not Wear Clothes That Makes You Feel Uncomfortable

Yes, you want to be physically attractive to your date so you wear fancy clothes. But what if that dress is a little too tight and short, so you keep on pulling it downward? What if your stilettos are too high, so you can't walk properly?
Being uncomfortable with the clothes you are wearing during your first date could make the situation worse. It sucks, walking under the night sky with a bright moon and millions of stars, but you can't appreciate everything because of your tight dress and high heels. It's not about being elegant in front of your date; it is also about you being comfortable.

Be On Time

Being on time on your first date could make a big difference. Never be late on your first date because you could piss off your date, giving them an impression that you are not really interested and it's okay to be late. You wouldn't also want your date to be late, right?

Ask Questions

Try to start a conversation by asking questions until you are comfortable with each other. Talk about your hobbies, interests, or other stuff like life goals. These simple conversations could lead you to your second date. Who knows, right? You might share the same hobby or passion in life.

Put Your Phone Away

Checking your phone from time to time is a big NO-NO on your first date. When you are having a getting-to-know-each-other conversation with your date, put your phone down. It is so rude to keep on staring at the screen of your phone while talking with someone. There is a real person in front of you, respect them.

Be Positive

Be positive on your first date even though you've gone through a hell of a rough day. Alleviate the anger you had from work. Be kind on your date, divert your attention. Stay calm and always be positive.
