Just to cover one destination that our Find Love Asia single girls may end up and a place I have spent some time is Christchurch New Zealand it is winter there at present so if you are in Asia and feel its a bit hot and muggy spare a thought for the Kiwis down under who are having cold southerly winds and -2 degress frosts and having to get up to go to work leaving their warm beds behind for those from Asia who have not slept a freezing night under a warm Duna you are missing out as it is cozy if you have a electric blanket or hot water bottle.
Christchurch is a pleasant city with a population of not much more than 350 000 it would be considered a large town by most countries standards,it has low pollution and been small is easy to get around and find your way around.
Christchurch is situated by the sea with the rolling hills on one side and the Canterbury plains and southern Alp mountains to the west.
The city is the gateway to the south Island which attracts snow skiing in the winter and also renowned for its fresh water fishing of trout and Salmon.
It is called the Garden city for its numerous parks and public gardens the Bitanical gardens been the largest of these where one can walk or canoe along the Avon river that meanders its way through Christchurch the water clear enough to see the trout swimming on the bottom,while on the water subject all the tap water is safe to drink in NZ although bottled water still tastes better in some areas.
with the south Island been small within a 2 hour drive of Christchurch you can see most scenries from the plains to mountains,rivers and lakes some of the activities you can get to are Hangliding, mountain biking, bungy jumping, ski-ing, snowboarding, jetboating, white water rafting, skydiving, mountain climbing, paragliding, riding in a Hagglund, heli-biking, 4 wheel driving,soaking in the natural hot springs in Hamner.
If you are outdoors type or action man or woman you will not be disappointed.
New Zealand is a bit pricey but if your traveling from overseas it has one of the lowest currency values so you do get more for your money than traveling to USA or England with their strong currency.
Accommodation is readily available especially in winter the hotels are not cheap but the Motels,Holiday Inns and backpacker hostels are great value for money and there are plenty of them and most will organize a trip to the Ski fields for you or other activities that they will supply booklets on.
If traveling between May-october pack warm clothing the calendar winter is 3 months but do not count on it.
Many from Asia will have never seen snow so I recommend a trip to the mountains and have a snowball fight,build a snowman or just jump around in the white stuff it surprisingly good fun.
The food is the standard western fare with Fish and Chips highly popular,there are however many Asian resturants Thai/Korean/Chinese etc so if you are missing the taste of home you will find a restaurant to suite.
The Christchurch international airport is only 10-15 minutes drive from the city so bus and Taxi affordable and will have you at your accommodation pretty quick.
In the Christchurch Square we have a guy called the wizard dresses up like one and rather funny to watch he makes fun of the government and just about everything else it is worth adding to your agenda.
The ocean is not far from Christchurch the water is clean but cold the wave action is stronger and higher than what you find in Asia so swim within the beach flags if your going in winter it will not be a problem as you will not want to swim and apart from some hardy surfers no one else will be there.
